Abstract

Daybooks, ledgers, and invoices, of general stores, chiefly in New Jersey. Some of the account books contain records of other kinds of businesses or other material; two of them were used as scrapbooks for newspaper clippings. Names represented include Anderson & Welles, James Beer, Bennet and Bishop (James Bennet and James Bishop), James Boylan, G. Broun, John Bryan, Phineas Carman, A.H. Cole, Nehemiah Crane, Thompson Crowell, Elmendorf & Cortelyou (William C. Elmendorf and Peter Cortelyou), Edward Foulke, Grant Gibbon, Nathaniel Holmes, Nathan R. Holt, Rachel R.
